I thought you might like to know what’s happening this summer at the Shift Space. Well not a whole lot actually. If any of you made it to our last show in May you might recall that our little building at 326 S. Commerce does tend to get rather hot and humid this time of year. For that reason we’ve decided that it might be a good idea to take a couple of months off to rest and relax, and to prepare for next fall. We feel that our patrons would agree with our decision on this.
In the meantime I, your faithful Shift Space blogger, have some ideas to add content and make the blog a little more interesting, so I’ll be working on setting that up this summer. Some of you may have heard that I would be leaving for Chicago sometime this fall, but as the Fates would have it, it looks like I will be staying in Wichita for the next few years for personal reasons--an unfortunate, but not entirely without benefit, turn of events. I was a little anxious about what might happen to the blog whenever I have to find someone to replace me, but at this point we’ll just cross that bridge when we come to it.
Anyway, I and everyone else involved with the Shift Space would like to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to make it to our events and for helping to turn our inaugural year into a complete success. And while Shift Space is principally a WSU organization, we welcome any and all suggestions from the greater Wichita community. We are truly grateful for all of the support that all of you have given us and for the support of the following sponsors: the Wichita Downtown Development Corporation, Uptown Bistro, Delano Bakery, Allen Lee Screen Printing, The Anchor, Zero Hope Productions, Belford Electric, and Wichita State University.
Wishing you all the best of summers,
Conan Y. Fugit
